I first developed depression in my early teens after my family moved to another state.

Creativity has been my savior. Playing with cameras was my distraction and it has turned into a major part of my life. I think finding a way to express yourself is really important. It let's you get all the misunderstood parts of you out into the world.

The hardest part of any thing in life is the first part. when the feelings first begin to develop that's when you need to work the hardest. Once you begin to find ways to deal with the issues that work well for you then it will get easier and easier but until you develop those techniques to pull yourself out of it, it's all trial and error and it does feel helpless.
